Proceeds for the sale of these duvet sets go to benefit a dutch homeless shelter. If you are interested in helping the cause you can purchase one via this link. I have read mixed reactions about using a cardboard theme to raise money for the homeless.
“Doesn’t it strike anyone as a mockery of the homeless misery ?
I mean, really, how comfortable would you be to sleep in “duvetted” cardboard while real people sleep under real cardboard ? Isn’t it the epitome for hypocritical charity : “I’ll give if it makes me look cool”? Quite typical of the out of touch limousine liberalism.”

I would be interested in a survey of homeless people to find out what they think about it. Their opinion is the only one that really matters. What do you think?

Let’s start with some basics about duvets and duvet covers before we go any further. Duvets are basically massive fabric square-shaped bags which are filled with feathers (think down comforter) or a synthetic fiber such as polyester. Duvets are easily the most comfortable form of blanket or comforter on earth no matter what the season. Extremely popular in Europe, they are known for being particularly warm which is great for the winter months but are just as cozy and comfortable in the summer months which makes duvets the most versatile bedding you can find on the market… since the 17th century.
Here are a few examples:

Brown blue duvet cover
Now that that is out of the way, let’s talk about duvet covers and about why they have become one of life’s little necessities. As time passed, duvets became more complex using synthetic fibers and more expensive feather materials. People began to need to start protecting their duvets from spills, leaks and everything else you can imagine so from this emerged the rise of the duvet cover - designed to slip right over the duvet and protect the actual blanket and filling while adding some pizazz to the bedroom. Duvet covers nowadays come in all sorts of designs from polka dots to solid colors and even stripes! They are also designed in a variety of ways ranging from zippers to buttons and they come in all sizes to adequately fit your duvet. Incidentally, duvet covers add another layer of comfort (as if this is even possible) and are made in any fabric you can think of from cotton to polyester and even silk.
After all is said and done, you can’t go wrong with a duvet and it’s cover. No matter where you live, what you do, or how you do it, everyone needs a duvet and a duvet cover to give their bedrooms, guest rooms and every other room a comfy, cozy finishing touch. So if you are one of those poor soles lacking a duvet, go broaden your horizons and pull out your favorite form of payment because the best nights sleep you’ve ever had is just around the corner.
